Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen Defeat Edwardsburg Varsity Eddies By GameChanger Media Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen defeated Edwardsburg Varsity Eddies 5-2 on Saturday at Edwardsburg High School. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kamdon Putz hit a sacrifice fly, and Drew Ginter singled to center field, each scoring one run. A single by Putz extended the Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning. Ginter earned the win for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. The pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking three. Austin Leak took the loss for Edwardsburg Varsity Eddies. The pitcher went two innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out two and walking none. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen collected 10 hits in the game. Putz went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen in hits. Ginter, Putz, and Brady Hoopingarner each drove in one run for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Izaiah Bute collected two hits for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen in four at bats. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen turned one double play in the game.
