Elkhart Christian Academy jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Hurt singled, scoring two runs, and Elkins drew a walk, scoring one run. Elkhart Christian Academy added one run in the second. Hurt hit into a fielder's choice, making the score 4-0. Elkhart Christian Academy added one run in the third after Ramirez singled to center field on an 0-2 count. Elkins earned the win for Elkhart Christian Academy. The pitcher allowed four hits and four runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four. Carson Gorsuch took the loss for Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen. The righty went two and one-third innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking six. Dominic Fazio, the number nine hitter for Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen, led the way with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Hurt provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Elkhart Christian Academy with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Hurt, Castro, and Ramirez each collected two hits for Elkhart Christian Academy. Reynolds paced Elkhart Christian Academy with five walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing 13 walks for the game. Castro stole two bases. Elkhart Christian Academy ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.
